Does anyone know what causes soap to crack down the middle like this?

Heat.

Your soap heated up too much.

No, but the cracking is barely noticeable and only took up the space of about 2 bars. Otherwise the soap turned out great..... lavender infused olive oil, shea butter, castor oil, lavender EO, and crushed lavender buds.
