Can you ruin a soap by adding to much good stuff?

I was just making a batch of oatmeal honey soap and used joghurt as 1/2 the liquid. I was thinking about adding an egg yolk too but decided against it.

Would that have been to much? Can you ruin a soap by adding to much good stuff?

You are the artist, so if you think it's right then I'd bet you'll find people who are receptive to your vision. I say trust yourself! There are a variety of people with a variety of tastes from simple to complex as with any art form.

the same way you could make a bar out of only expensive oils and butters and end up with with an awful bar, yes, i'd say too much of a good thing could ruin a soap. but it's all up to you the quantities and balance you put into it, so i say go for it and find the balance that works for you!
