A dear friend of mine who used to soap has given me several 8Lb buckets of Crafters Choice palm and coconut oil and a big bag Shea Butter. I'm thrilled. Except they went out of date in 2017... One palm oil that was opened smells a little stale but the full ones smell and look 100% normal and fine. Same for the coconut oil. Some are still sealed unopened.

If they look and smell good, do you think it's fine to use for cold process soap? Or is it a sure-fire invitation for DOS? Thanks!

If they don’t smell off I would use them but only for personal use. The off smelling one may cause issues.
Yeah I think I’ll avoid the stale ones... I’ll try to use recipes that don’t involve lots of new oils just in case they do go bad- I don’t want to waste good ingredients!
