    Gritty butter.....HELP!

    I made a butter with shea and cocoa butters, coconut and olive oil, beeswax, and colloidal oatmeal. I did not realize I had to dissolve the c.oatmeal first. Is there a way I can fix it?

    First salting out/rebatch

    I've melted this soap down 4x and I'm starting to worry about its integrity. First melting: 1:1 soap to water. As it was heating I reread Deanna's tutorial about salting out soap. I should have used double the water but was too lazy to measure out more. I'm also sure I added my salt too...

    Who is your Shea Butter Source?

    I have received 55 lbs of gritty shea butter from the same supplier twice now. It is refined and feels quite nice if it weren't for the grittiness/graininess which is driving me up the wall! I use it mostly for whipped shea butters, and I've found when I temper it, it A)Ends up getting grainy...
