Hi everyone :) I am new to soap making, well i actually haven't even started yet lol but i am looking to get some lye and i was wondering if there was a more organic type of lye you can buy or if the one from Bunnings is as good as you can get.
thanks for your time!

Are you in Australia? I buy lye from Bunings and it's perfect for soapmaking.
As for the organic part, I'm not sure how would one source organic lye. Does that even exist? Lye is a chemical compound.

Lye is NaOH, sodium hydroxide. It is sodium+oxygen+hygrogen. Sodium is found in table salt(NaCl). Oxygen and Hydrogen are found in water(H2O).

NaOH is often used in food preparation such as the making of pretzels. Even the "organic" pretzels are dipped in NaOH(sodium hydroxide).

INGREDIENTS:
CERTIFIED ORGANIC UNBLEACHED WHEAT FLOUR, SESAME SEED, CERTIFIED ORGANIC SOYBEAN OIL, SALT, MALT, YEAST AND SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Just saying.
