Thank you for the warm welcome (no pun intended ;-) ) Summer is just ending for me.. I have a hard time convincing myself to do much when we have 95 degree Fahrenheit weather not counting the humidity. So, the cooler temperatures always gets me wanting to start soaping again!

    Returning Member :-)

Heya all! I have been making soap off and on for a few years now. I had been a member when I was first starting out and then my life blew up and I was not able to make any soap or be on the forums for a while. I have been feeling the itch to make some more soap with the weather getting cooler...

    I've been busy today...

Wow, Great Job! I am completely in awe at your skills (then again, I failed to make a simple mold as I tried to nail together hardwood and it worked very poorly.. lol).

And then all went wrong... :(

It still looks very nice even if it is not quite how you wanted it to be.. some of my nicest soaps were not quite how I imagined them to be, but still came out very nice. I also love how soap keeps surprising us and changes :-)

Soap scents that attract the opposite sex

I actually had heard that the scent for turning on men was cinnamon buns... but that was just what I had heard :-)

    Cure time for high OO?

That is a pretty low to average amount of OO. High would be 90% plus. They need longer cure times. For the 30% OO, it should be fine with 4-6 week cure time.

Soaping in the heat of summer

I have not made much soap this summer because I am a wimp about the heat, but it can be done without ill effect to the soap. For me it is just a matter my own comfort level. It has been in the 90's and humid here and my apartment has poor air circulation and no AC so it is warmer then it is...

    What's your next soap experiment?

I am likely not going to be able to make much soap for the rest of the weekend. I did have a couple of experiments this past week though. I made my first OMH soap using GM, and then made "chocolate milk" using cocoa powder and GM (and chocolate FO). I wish I had gotten a bit darker on the...

First batch now sitting in its mold!

Souljasam, I missed seeing some of the post earlier and have not been on the forum as much lately, but I saw you asking about buying locally in Western Mass. I buy my Olive Oil at Market Basket usually. They seem to have the larger containers of 100% Olive Oil on sale every few weeks for $10...
