    Wet Oatmeal

To make the oat milk blend the oats and water and than strain it. Use the strained liquid as your water, but you have to either use the frozen method for the oat milk or use the split method. Split method is using 50% of water for your lye, and using the other 50% of oat milk to be added at...

    Help, got ash.

My soaps always have ash. Tried spraying with alcohol without success. I have been putting Saran Wrap on top of mold. That seems to help a bit. I usually wash the ash off which is a pain. You think there would be something out there to prevent ash. It is not attractive.

    gooey beer soap

I have heard this before, just watch your soap. If you steps should be followed if one should see signs of overheating? If you stick the soap in it the refrigerator and it has started to gel wouldn't you get a partial gel circle in the middle?

    Help! Milk Soap issues.

you think using powdered milk and turning it into liquid could be the problem? I wonder if that is the culprit. It is not easy to get real goats milk in the carton. My supermarket does not carry it. That is why I bought the powdered. I would have to travel to a speciality supermarket...

    Help! Milk Soap issues.

Thanks ladies. I do think I it was too much concentrated powdered milk as well. I will try goats milk per directions on the can. I did read somewhere that you could double the strength of the goats milk powered to compensate for not using it as the whole liquid amount. But I guess that...

    Help! Milk Soap issues.

I did use the right water amount, I just did not have any directions for the coconut milk powder so I used an 1 oz. of powder by weight which did seem like alot of coconut powder. With the goats milk I used triple the amount that was called for in powdered goats milk, so that may be the...

    Help! Milk Soap issues.

Hi ladies, Evey thing has been going well with my milk soaps until I decided that I did not want to use the ice cubed milk method. I tried the split method. The inside of the last few batches have been mushy and partially gelled, sigh..... This is how I did it. The recipe called for...

What are the benefits of Goat's Milk?

What is the RTCP version. I love goats milk soap, but I have tried making it with ice cubes (that is a pain in the butt). I did the split method (soap was a bit too soft). What is your method. Thanks.....

    Wet Oatmeal

I think it is a preference when you put the oatmeal in. My whole point of putting in wet oatmeal was that I did not want to feel the oatmeal in the soap, (wet is mushy). I took the advice of some of the others and added the ground up oatmeal in the oils. If you want an exfoliating bar...

    Wet Oatmeal

I only used about 2 tablespoons to 30 ozs. of oil. I made another batch yesterday and I added dry oats to my oils. I use the ice cube method with my oat milk. If you wet your oatmeal and it is oK, than mine should be OK. I liked the way it looked with speckles in it and when I tested...

    Wet Oatmeal

Hi All, I make my own oat milk and I put whole oatmeal in a blender with water and blend it up (I have a Ninja blender). Anyway I strain it. Of course there is left over oatmeal that is sort of mushy. I had an idea to put some of that in my soap. Which I did. I don't like soap that is...

I have emailed them and they did not answer me. I have Soapmaker 3 Pro, can you tell me what is the spec. gravity of dry products, like clays, herbs, etc. Also is there a report you can run at the end of the year for the supplies that were bought for tax purposes?

    Saopmaker 3 Software Love it!!!

Hi, I did not get a response back yet, and I am a bit disheartened about that. I did email them early yesterday and thought for sure I would get a response back by now. I do not know what the differences are, I am assuming there are more options in the version that I bought. It was...

    Saopmaker 3 Software Love it!!!

I just bought the Soapmaker 3 software. I wanted to let others know how much I love it. I am sure it has been posted before. This software will track every single ingredient and packaging costs for every batch of soap, WOW.... Now I know without sitting with my calculator how much, even...

How much puree Avocado can I use?

What is the most puree avocado I can use in my soap. I am going to add at trace, take the puree weight away from the lye water. Will it leave the soap green??? I saw a soap that was an avocado bar, and it was light green. Did not state that it was colored with anything.

Clays and powders that will NOT be scratchy in CP Soap

I just recently put Bentonite clay in my oils before the lye (bought from Mountain Rose Herbs). When I saw it float to the bottom I into panic mold as I don't like scratchy soap, so I strained it out. I know made a jar with the Bentonite clay and mixed it with water, shook it up, I will...

    Bleeding Red Soap

Thank you for all the input. I was not aware that Lush soap bleeds. I will test it and see if it stains the wash cloth. I like the Marketing Plan. LOL....

    Bleeding Red Soap

What can be done with it now, is there a way to rebatch it? Maybe grate it and use it sparingly in other soap?

Clays and powders that will NOT be scratchy in CP Soap

Do I wet the clay first. When I used Bentonite I put it straight into the oils, and I had to strain it out, it fell to the bottom. Thanks for all the responses. I will try that. I am going to order some French clays from BB.
