    I made these two soaps using same exact recipe and even weights were identical. They did have different fragrances. But used the same amount of fragrance oil in each from same manufacturer. Both were cp soaps. Here is the biggest thing I did different. The one which is nice and uniform in color...

    Color

    So I made my first cp deer tallow soap just pulled it out of the mold as this is the color of it not what I was thinking it would be is this normal to have the color variations? If so what causes it? Thanks

    Almost ready for first soap

    So think I finally think I am almost ready to attempt my first ever soap. It's going to be a deer tallow soap barrowed a recipe I seen here. Can someone please take a look at it and make sure i am on the right path please. I have done a lot of reading and watching, also have one more question...

    Sizes

    Yes I knew you could whisk just thought the blender definitely speeds things up also it is a deer tallow soap which from what I have read can take a bit to come to trace with just a whisk. Thanks for the info

    So I am very new and still haven't made my first soap but getting close. I have a couple questions you all can hopefully help me with planning on making cold process soap a 32oz batch in a 6 qt crockpot. Are the oils going to be deep enough in that size of crockpot to submerge my emulsion...

    I just fig it would make it easier to remove then I would freeze until ready to make the soap

    I am new to this forum. I have never made any soap just in the process of trying it now. So I rendered my deer fat once and I forgot to add any salt in. I am in the process of rendering a second time and wondering if I should put some salt in with this render? Or do I not really need it. Also...
