Hi all. Say your not using anything but regular water for the water in your recipe....is there any benefit or reason to discount your water from the standard 38% to say 36% or lower etc.? Will the soap be harder? Cure quicker?

Where do you guys buy that butt-naked scent?? I bought some incense that was scented with it once in Venice Beach and never forgot the smell!! Haven't seen it since until now.....would love to have some!!

I definatley noticed a difference between bars I used for shampoo that were CP as opposed to HP...HP works well for my hair...CP made my scalp a tad itchy!! I have oily skin though so CP works good for me for my face!!

I am fairly new to soaping and I can tell you that to accurately gauge(sp?) your soap you have to use it consecutively for a bit....like you may shower with it once and think, 'Hey this is great'...but you have to continue to use it and see how it REALLY affects your skin to know it's...

I have the same experience...I have made and used CP and more recently HP and I am amazed at how moisturizing and mild the HP can be...I add my extra oils of Rice Bran or Shea/Mango butter and EO's after the cooking process so the lye doesn't affect them at all...they just stay in the soap as...

Good Point!! Any warnings I happen to come across while making soap (after of course the ubiquitous lye saftey concerns) are always the frangrance or EO warnings!! Also a good book on Aromatherapy should be very clear on which essential oils to avoid while pregnant...as for frangrance...
