Hi All, This I a recipe I've been working on. I quite like it but it could use some more residual slickness. Any tips on tweaking the recipe to add some slickness? I was thinking about adding murumuru or some silk / corn powder. Does anyone have any experience with these?

The test lather was just me bein inpatient 😊 it's now resting and I won't touch it for weeks now. I know it will improve. And I will update this post with the results. A shaving section would be great. All tips, recipes and discussions in one place.

Yes that's very true. I was thinking on lowering the SA from 60 to 50 and CO from 15 to 10. And add 10% mango (also has a nice SA and PA content) and add a it more shea and maybe 3% jojoba, to see if that helps the glide. If i HP this does it makes sense to keep the SF% low like 2% and add 5%...

Sorry, I didn't noticed you're last post until now. The SA I got is pure stearic acid. Made from rapeseed oil. Inci name stearic acid. The reason why I chose these oils is because a very good shaving soap uses them and I want to try to get as close as possible with the butters I can get...

I tinkered a bit more. I accidentally swapped mango and avocado. I wanted avocado oil and mango butter 😅. Any thoughts on this recipe? Do you think it will work? The fatty acids profile looks OK I think.

Sorry one more question.... I want to make another test batch. But making approx 400-500 grams each time is a bit much... It give me years of shaving pucks ;) Is there an "easy" way of making like 100grams?

The soap was very good and I liked the density. But I found it a bit drying. I have dry skin, so it's not really surprising. But it's more drying then some other soaps I've used. I added 10% glycerin in this recipe. I could bump it to 15% and maybe add lanolin as a super fat. May I ask what...

The recipe I made now is Wich is high in stearic but low in conditioning.
