    Blended pomace?

I'm not sure if the pomace we get here is anything similar to what I see referred to as pomace. The pomace here states it's 51% olive oil and 48% sunflower oil Is it possible/desirable to use this pomace as olive oil in soapmaking? I'm guessing I'd need to recalculate the recipes? Thanks

    ZNSC with honey

We're petsitting for a wonderful couple who happen to keep honey bees. I didn't realise they kept bees or would enjoy homemade soap so I never thought to bring my soapmaking things. Anyway, thanks to the very helpful people on here recommending Zany's No Slime Castile, after looking around...

I really don't know why I feel I need to double check my numbers but does this seem right? Thanks

    No stick blender

As I mentioned before, I'm away from home and would like to make soap for my host. I was planning to make Zany's No Slime. I don't have access to a stick blender though. Is it realistic to attempt it stirring by hand? Thanks

Simple lard free and palm free?

I'm away on vacation looking after someone's house who would very much love some homemade soap. I didn't realise this beforehand so I haven't got any of my oils with me. Is there a simple recipe that doesn't use lard or palm oil that I could make for her? Thank you for any suggestions

    Palmolive soap scent?

We're in the UK and my husband has asked me to make some soap that smells like the commercial Palmolive soap as it reminds him of his grandma... Has anyone ever come across that fragrance in terms of soapmaking pls? thanks

    USI soap?

****To clarify, I didn't mean the Monthly Challenge soaps are ugly 🙈🙈🙈 I meant there could be a thread for our own personal soap disasters. I hope I didn't upset anyone! **** I've had an idea...inspired by the monthly challenges, how about a "Ugliest Soap Imaginable" (aka USI soap)? Full...

    Logbook

Those of you who keep a logbook, which one do you like? I'm just a hobby soaper...I wondered about Jan Berry's but it wouldn't be possible to ship it to the UK. I know there's also a download version but I prefer something that feels more special ☺️

    Soap fail

I used some hot processed soap I made about 4 weeks ago and it's got gross slimely strings coming off it when I use it. 😔 It's coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil and water. I didn't enjoy making it at the time either. Oh well. I hope the other batches (all cold processed and much more pleasant...

    Mica powder storage?

How do you store your mica powders so they're easy to use? Mine came in little ziplock bags but the powder clings to the plastic and sprays out a bit each time I open it. I'm wondering if little pots would be better? I'd love to hear any suggestions Thank you

UK site for a small order?

I only want a few powders and one scent but I'm so stunned by the horrific postal charges! Three 5g mica powders and one 30ml fragrance oil = £5 delivery charge  It seems most UK sites have similar charges. One has free p&p but the products are almost twice the price of the sites that...

My hubby surprised me with a soapy gift

I'm pretty astonished. DH walked past and joked that we'll never run out of soap bc I make some every day at the moment. I replied that I'd just finished all the lye I had so yeah, maybe I have made rather a lot. He comes back from picking up our daughter from her dance class and cheerfully...

    Micamoma : colour advice

I can't spend to much on colours so was thinking of getting the three primary colours, cyan, yellow and magenta and then some white and blend colours from there. Does anyone know which colours from micamoma correspond to the three primary colours? Thanks

    Better than expected!

I really need to stop fiddling with swirls and thought this goat milk soap would be ugly bc I just kept retouching the swirls 🙄. It's not too bad actually! I'm definitely still a beginner!

    Some VERY ugly soap 🤦

I was showing someone how to make soap and we made this soap together. It's truly ugly and awful! 😂 I was so busy banging on about safety, oils, lye etc that any artistry went out the window. And our DIY mould was too big so there wasn't enough batter to fill it. 🤦 Smells gorgeous though 😉

    Still learning

I've rediscovered soapmaking after a break of 10 years or so. Even back then, I didn't make very much so I'm basically a faux beginner. These are semi successful, which is fine. I was making use of the cut offs from last week's soap and trying out using cocoa powder.

    Hello from Wales, UK

Hello! I love making soap even though I'm still figuring this out. Right now, I have made enough soap to ensure that our family is squeaky clean for the next 5 years but one must think to the future, mustn't one? 😂😉😉 Basically, I love making soap so here I am! I look forward to getting to know...
