What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

This! Yes! I also find the DIY B&B pourable shampoo bar lather lacking, although my hair and scalp feel good after using it. I've made two other bars with richer lather: the DIY solid shampoo bar and the Humblebee & Me Pink Clay Mosaic Shampoo Bars. (Mine don't come out as mosaics because I use...

    Natural Sweet Notes?

What about geranium EO? I find it very sweet-smelling. That said, I think it's a very distinct scent, so you have to make sure you like it first.

White Tea & Ginger FO from Fragrance Buddy

This gives me a lot of perspective and comfort! Thanks so much for this!

White Tea & Ginger FO from Fragrance Buddy

Thank you for this. I'll probably do the same, or maybe lower my usage rate to 4%. I'm disappointed too. I discovered the new rate as I am literally waiting for a new bottle to arrive. A 16 oz bottle! 😥 I'll also take @KiwiMoose 's suggestion and just tell people.

White Tea & Ginger FO from Fragrance Buddy

Thanks so much for your suggestions! I'm not in the US, but I can order sometimes and ask my parents to ship to me. So I may be able to check these FOs out in the future.

White Tea & Ginger FO from Fragrance Buddy

I purchased White Tea & Ginger FO from Fragrance Buddy this past summer when I was in the USA, based on enthusiastic recommendations here on the forum. And I love it! And my friends and family love it! It's fresh and unisex and lovely! The issue: I recently logged onto the FB site to check...

@Zing Lovely soap!! Would you mind sharing how much turmeric you used per pound/500g of soap?

What soapy thing have you done today?

I gave the chopstick swirl two more tries. I'm also trying out new FOs I got when I was in the USA this summer. The first one is Life Lessons by Frangrance Buddy, and the second one is Persephone, a new fragrance by Micas & More. I like the green one best (in my original chopstick swirl post...

What soapy thing have you done today?

It's been AGES since I've posted, but I'm still a faithful reader of the forum. :) I tried a new swirl - based on Holly's Chopstick Swirl - and I'm in love! I did two concentric semi-circles instead of her three because I did a smaller batch - and I only used two colors instead of her three. I...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I love Castile-type soaps, but I know I'm in the minority! I find that if I use 100% white vinegar as my liquid, I can cut most of the slime. And I think the vinegar makes the lather better.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made neem oil soap for the first time! I was inspired by the thread about using neem oil soap as a natural mosquito repellent. I used 20% neem. I read over a few threads here about neem oil, and sure enough, my batter, like that of others here on the forum, moved quite quickly. I didn't use a...

    Soap scent could attract mosquitoes

Thanks for this post! I was so intrigued by what you said that I ordered neem oil for the first time. Mosquitos really love me - and I'd like to find something natural to repel them. Do you have any recommendations for making this soap, beyond keeping it unscented? Is 15% neem oil ideal? Should...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I use micas to color my Syndet shampoo bars, the same micas I use for soap. Attaching picture . . .

SCI Powder with cold process soap

After reading the links @DeeAnna generously provided, I'm left wondering if my undissolved SCI powder will add to the lather of my soap. I think yes, because SCI is undissolved in many solid shampoo bars (even left as more solid "noodles") and still cleanses and contributes to lather. If this...

SCI Powder with cold process soap

@DeeAnna - Thanks so much for all of these resources! Before seeing this thread, I had no idea that syndets in handmade soap were a thing.

SCI Powder with cold process soap

Thanks @neonstudy for posting about this. I was inspired by your idea and added 5% SCI to the soap I made yesterday. I just made my regular recipe and added the SCI once I was at about medium trace. My young adult daughter is my most faithful soap user, but also has very high standards regarding...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

@Servant4Christ My friends and family have been happy with the DIY Pourable formulation, so I urge you to keep trying. I agree with you, though, that it's tricky to melt it down and pour fast enough. I've been using the microwave but decided that next time I make them, I'm going to use a...

    Syndopour shampoo syndet base testing

Do it! I bought the DIY Pourable Shampoo bar recipe, and I was so imtimidated by the ingredient list - what each ingredient did and how I would source each one - that I just stared at it for a few months. Then I at myself down and made an excel sheet of each ingredient, how much it cost, where...
