    Adding salt to CP soap

How is it? I'd like to know how the curing went, too. Black lava salt is very interesting in your beautiful soap!

    Adding salt to CP soap

Same here with regard to superfatting. I superfat 15% with avocado and castor, which creates a soap that will not dry out the skin. But, coconut oil can lather in sea water - and salt is a mineral that robs lather, so the more coconut oil, the better suds. All soaps benefit from longer...

    price increase at WSP

I, too, have a problem I cannot shake. I began using their "all natural flavor/fragrance oils of vanilla mint, honey almond, and maraschino cherries - the honey almond in my shampoo bar that is very popular. They want more than $13 for a 2 oz. now!!! I just cannot justify that expense...

    Adding salt to CP soap

I use fine ground sea salt. It sweats when it is humid, but other than that, it is a dry soap. I use a lot more coconut oil and superfat it at 15% with avocado and castor oils. It produces a very hard bar with creamy, lotion like lather that leaves my skin softer than soft.

How much do you pay for beeswax?

Yes, you will do great at $3 a pound and no shipping - what a deal. And, filtering beeswax is not so hard if you keep it rather warm. And, I think you may still get a honey scent when you make your lip balms, lotions, and other goodies. :) good find!!!

    coconut oil moisturizer

Well, the coconut oil is solid at room temp. Maybe mixed with oil at the right ratio may provide the creaminess you are looking for. Emu oil (if you are not vegan) is that creamy consistency - and may help with that. You may also consider a butter instead of a wax. Just ideas. ;)

    Buy Avocado Oil

I guess you would want to use the unrefined. It is $10 less at soapers choice; however, if you are local as Carebear suggests, it would be less costly to buy it locally w/o shipping. :)

How much do you pay for beeswax?

That is a pretty good price. Soapers Choice has it between $3.25 and $3.64 a lb. for 25 and 8 lb. boxes. I remember paying $4 a pound locally at the farmer's market. $3 a pound for a hundred pound sounds nice. :)

    soap making seminar europe?

Someone approached me at my last show and asked me if I would teach soap making at the Wellness centers (Young Living Oils). I wasn't sure there is really a demand for it until I read what you wrote. I hope you find one! Thank you for helping me to make up my mind. :)

    coconut oil moisturizer

Hi. That sounds wonderful, except that I don't particularly care for beeswax on my face. I do make a facial oil that includes that lovely extra virgin coconut oil. Add a wonderful sweetness to the herbal fragrance of it. You may consider making a very light, greaseless oil for the...

    Hempz Body Lotion fragrance

That is exactly what I would do. I would get the two you mentioned, and maybe a "clean" sort of scent and mix it how I smell it. Drops at a time until you smell something pretty close. Keep tabs of the drops so you have ratios. I do a bottle. But, I hear dropping it on a cotton ball is...

    Salt Bar Question

Okay, I think I've got it...I'm going to try it now. I'm putting together a coconut, hemp, and castor base with a 15% superfat of avocado. I'm discounting my water 20%. - about 13 oz. water to 48 oz. oils and 31 oz. salt. I think I'm going green or brown with a sweet birch eo, as well...

    Soaping sickness is...

Exactly right. When did that happen? When 1/2 the pantry is devoted to soap. When you cringe when asked what oil to use for cooking ("none - they are all MINE for SOAP, I tell you!!!) When I feel sad at the empty oil containers. When I live to make a "new" soap...
