Thank you very much Andrew for your contributions to this thread! I found your posts very informative. I’ve used GW 415 a couple of times thinking it was fully hydrogenated and was curious why the results were unexpected.

This is not a very good one I’m afraid. I made mine and most everyone found it drying even with a higher SF. My lard soap is the most requested from my friends and family. 55% lard 25% HO safflower 15% coconut 5% castor Simple, cheap and battle tested. Friends and Family Approved.

Update - the soap came out of their molds just fine. They are pretty firm but a little sticky from all the added glycerin. Lather isn’t bad. Definite room for improvement. Question for those that use hydrogenated soy wax. Does it turn your soap a yellowish orange color? I’ve used the same...
