    UK CP soap safe fragrance

Hi. Does anyone know of a reputable company in the UK that sells FO that are relatively stable in soap recipes? Specifically coconut, rose and lilac fragrances. Many thanks.

    Advice please.

Ah ha. There in lies my inexperience! Soap calc is a complicated thing and half the time I leave what I don't understand. So I'll try the lye concentration now I know better. I put it in the fridge cos I added extra honey and didn't want it volcano'ING. Thanks for all the new advice. It's...

    Advice please.

Thanks for the help. I'll try it again but cooler next time. It was a good learning experience. Definitely not what I was expecting to be my first failed batch. Does this kind of thing only happen with lard?

    Advice please.

Well. As you said, it's horrid throughout! WTH!? I thought lye was supposed to 'destroy' lard? How can it survive such a harsh environment? Can I cut the lard top off and use the bottom bit? Will the lye/fat ratio be wrong? Would this have happened to palm oil? So many questions!

    Bubble bar vs. Bath bomb

Never heard of a bubble bar. Does it sit in the bath?

    Advice please.

Ummm, mix both mixtures at 60c. Stick blended for ages cos it wouldn't trace, then popped in fridge for 36 hours roughly. Got it to a very light trace because my cheapo hand blender was burning out. I added quite a lot of honey. Would that have used up more lye so there was not enough left to...

Can someone identify these dried flowers?

Top flowers look like poppy petals.

    Advice please.

Hi. Made a loaf bar recently and it's curing well. It's been about a week out of the mould. There are however about 3 small pockets of white soft 'fat' on the side. Looks like un saponified lard. Attached are photos of the soap and my recipe. I substituted water for oat milk and added honey...

    Just some quick advice.

My first attempt at a loaf bar. The ends are nice even smooth colours. The more towards the centre, the bars get a darker middle. I tried looking up and something about gelling or gell phase?? I haven't had this with the single bar moulds I usually use. It was a plywood mould with a silicone...

I had nightmares about that film when I watched it as a child! Now I'm going to have to sleep with the lights on again!

Many thanks for all the helpful replies and suggestions. I think as we had quite a wet summer here it was particularly humid. Especially as the soap is curing near the kitchen. I did mix in rather too much oxide in olive oil because I couldn't get the shade of orange I was after. Probably more...

Ok. Thanks Krista. Looking at the other cured bars, there's a 'film' over them. And your finger leaves a mark on them. Kind of like when you rub a steamed up mirror. I guess I'll leave them a bit longer to dry out.

Ok. It was a recipe from the Internet. 135g shea 180g coconut 360g olive 135g palm 267g water 111.6g lye I just add essential oil willy nilly....well, as much as I think will be enough to make it smell nice. Maybe my lack of accuracy in this area is the problem. Hasn't been before though.

Hi. I've been dabbling in CP soap making for a few months now. I've made a few batches. All seem ok. However, made a batch recently and although it has cured to a hard bar, when I get it wet it seems to melt very quickly. A slime seems to cover it. I did put rather a lot of coloured oxide mixed...
