Hi guys, i made a column soap in a pringles can on the 3rd of this month and it's still not set from around 1/3 down, I superfatted to 5%, used castor, coconut and olive oil and stuck to the recipe but i'm wondering if it's been a waste and i should throw it away/start again? I've made CP soap...

Have you considered using whole vanilla pods? I don't know if they give off much scent but layering them through the soap would keep it natural, make it look cute and possibly offer an exfoliant and a scent? A bag in the UK is around £7 for 50 pods which would do more than one loaf :)

Thank you Obsidian, i'd not done any HP before and wanted to stick to the video as much as possible so I had no way of messing it up but when she skipped from moulding it up to cutting it I got a little lost so just followed what I did with my CP, I know for next time :)

Thank you all, i've just found a 'recommened oil% sheet' which seems to explain why certain oils should only be added in small %'s and what they offer to soap so it'll keep me busy a little while, then i'll find out how much of them i need :)

I'm more than happy to use Lard, not sure where i'd buy tallow from as we aren't so local to any butchers but i'll bare it in mind, other than putting water and lard into the lye calculators i'm a little stuck on what's next or what else i should be adding, i guess researching the effects of...

When I signed up and expressed my want to learn how to make HP soap I was told to give m+p a go first to get a feel of what I wanted from soap, looks, smells ect...I successfully make 6 m+p soaps and then made my first CP soap (courtesy of Crafty Gemini on YouTube) which was 2 types of oil...no...

I've find M+p mega expensive tbh, I can make 4 batches of HP/CP for the same price as M+P from the ebay seller, for kids and bold bright soap m+p is brilliant, it also cuts back on the waiting process that comes with CP so I may try it again soon

It's still quite sticky but I think I rushed wrapping it (over excitement :)) It's very lathery though so i'm please :) Sadly we don't have a bramble berry here and the $55 delivery charge is a killer so i'm stuck with a cheaper mix but i'm hoping my HP soap will be better quality :)
