Well, they didnt have any palm oils, or Peppermint EO. So I got a EO blend of Chamomile and Peppermint. it smells yummy.

Thank you carebear! I understand it now. :D As the soap cures, does it become more milder? So, I have been making my bars at 5%, can they still be used on the face? They will be curing for 9-10 weeks before being used. I will now be making my soaps at 7%.

What is the superfat/discount %? I just use what the soap calc has it set on, which is 5%.

When you add the lye to the water, the water is supposed to be ice cold, otherwise you could cause a reaction with the lye.

That nice looking soap Soapmaker Man. I think im going to do red coloring, if I can find some. How do you cut your soaps? I just use a regular large kitchen knife.

I want to make some peppermint CP soap. To make it, I can use essential oil, right? I think that would be a nice soap for christmas gifts. Also, how do you swirl the color?

Where can I get lard and tallow? Is that sold in grocery stores? I do use coconut, but Ive read using too much can dry out skin.

What are some oils that will make a hard soap, and are easy to find in the grocery store? I have coconut, crisco, canola, and olive oil, but I want some type of oil to make the bar harder.
