yes, I added fragrance to the oils before mixing with the lye. I thought that might have caused it to seize.

I mixed my lye with ice cubed goat milk and mixed it slowly in an ice bath. When it came up to 75 degrees ( and it was already tracing) I mixed with my oils (75 degrees) it started to seize and get lump. I mixed it throughly and clumped it into the mold. What did I do wrong and can I still...

Everything appeared to be ok until I added the fragrance oil. Then the "pudding like" soap got lumpy. I put it into the mold, but I'm wondering if I should take it out and tried something else. Any suggestions?:crazy:

I took in allk of your suggestions and just made my first CPHP salt bars. 100% coconut oil, 20% superfatted, 50% of oil weight in salt. I also added a liitle almond oil. After the cook, I put it into the mold and honest to God, it was ready to cut in less than an hour!!! I washed my hands...

another question.....so if I do CPHP, will I add the salt before or after the cook?

I just want to try it out and I only have lard, coconut, olive and grapeseed oil in my cupboard. Also, can I use table salt rather than fine sea salt? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
