Beachy Coconut FO for CP soap?

I've been soaping for about a year now, and I'm finally getting into a good rhythm - except, for the life of me I CANNOT find a good FO with a strong beachy coconut scent that will stick in CP soap. Lots of them have fruity overtones that overpower the coconut scent, and the ones that are only...

Soap for people who swim a lot (chlorinated pools)

I get a lot of benefit from aqua aerobics, but I find that gym pools always go very heavy on the chlorine. It always makes my skin super dry and I'm sensitive to the chlorine. Plus the lingering smell - bleh. I use lotion of course but I want a good soap as well. I want to make a soap for...

    Lye water not heating?

Made the soap and got trace within five minutes - so everything went great! I guess I was just expecting more of a reaction from everything I've been reading, but you're right it's not as dramatic as I imagined. Thanks for the advice given or I might have gotten rid of perfectly good lye water :)

    Lye water not heating?

We do keep it pretty cool in my house, so that combined with a large cold container probably did it. Thanks guys! I'm warming the lye pot a bit in a warm bath and we'll see how it goes.

    Lye water not heating?

I mixed it in a stainless steel pot with room temp water. When I mixed it it was as if I was just mixing ordinary salt into the water, no mist, no visible reaction at all, nothing. I went to the store to get a digital thermometer to be sure (I started with a dial one) but the temp of the water...

    Lye water not heating?

Just started my very first batch of soap. I got the lye from brambleberry, because I didn't want to take my chances with the stuff you can get from the hardware store. But of course I have problems anyway. The lye dissolved completely into the water just fine, but it never seemed to react at...

    Possibly a silly question...

I'm new to soapmaking and experimenting with different processes. I was thinking about how some soap will start to set up very quickly after you add fragrance oil, and you have to be fast about pouring it in the mold. If you are pouring it into a large loaf mold that your stick blender easily...

    Yet another crazy newbie!

yeah I intend on making sure my soaps are of top quality before attempting to sell. that means experimenting on family and friends :D

    Yet another crazy newbie!

I'm new to soapmaking, but I've always wanted to make my own soaps/scent combinations. I'm going to try to sell soaps eventually (when I feel comfortable that I am producing good soap), but even if that doesn't work I'm definitely going to keep making it for myself! I haven't actually made any...

    all natural Coconut scents?

I'm new to soapmaking, but from what I've read any coconut scent you can find is going to be a FO and completely fake. On the one hand I want to make all natural soap without any FO, but on the other hand I REALLY love coconut smell! Do anyone think it would be possible to get a good coconut...
