Yes, exactly. On the recipe when you go to print it, there is a spot on the right that you can hit to multiply it 3x. Here is my handwritten notes on the printed recipe though as well.
I do not mind at all, I love the breakdown of oils at the top of the post, and I used the same oils that the recipe calls for but I converted them to grams to have a more accurate measurement.

Now for turning this into a beard balm, I added...
Okay. That actually helps a lot. Does it need to be arrowroot or would another kind of starch work as well? Could I possibly test it with corn starch do you think?
Thank you!
Hello, I'm trying to formulate a recipe for solid lotion bars with what I already have ingredient wise and without buying the more expensive butters.
I have:
Beeswax
Shea butter
Coconut oil
Palm oil
Sunflower oil (not high oleic)
Castor oil
Apricot kernel oil
Avocado oil
Jojoba oil
Olive oil

I'm glad for all the input, I think I might just stay away from the Crisco, shortening, etc. For now at least. I used it in one recipe a few months ago at a pretty high % but haven't used it since.
I found a beard oil recipe I really liked and added beeswax and Shea butter to it to make beard balm for my husband and his friends. I tried it on my hair and it is perfect, it is not a hair styling wax but also does not leave the hair greasy. Just nice for some conditioning and taming.

Has anyone had good luck with using Crisco in soap making? I'm trying my best to make soap without spending a ton of money since it's just for family and friends as gifts.
So I used a purple from Brambleberry that I already knew was prone to morphing into grey in the main batch and added a mica that I bought off Etsy to the top portion. Their shop is I think, Dragon Dust Micas. (All of their colors have been beautiful)
Oh, I already knew it wouldn't have a good lather. I was making them as a super conditioning bar of soap for my sister that gets eczema rashes on her hands.
I appreciate the input, I generally do a lot of reading on what I plan to do before trying. But I also am using cheaper oils/butters so if...
I finally used soapcalc to make my own recipe. It's the first batch I've formulated myself and it is also a Soleseife bar. I used dead sea salt in my water, and I scented them with Bergamot Tea FO.
I was really excited when I got on the website and saw the prices on the FO, I immediately put in an order with scents I am hoping will be great for the fall/winter. Thank you so much, the 2 OZ bottles I am getting to try out scents are at least $2 cheaper each than what I was looking at on...
I am wanting to start making some nice fall/winter scented soaps to send to my family for the holidays so that everything has a nice cure time. I have had a lot of luck in finding fruity/sweet smells on Brambleberry but I am super disappointed in the lack of spicy fall/winter scents I have...
Well, this is good to know. My husband bought me a giant glass measuring cup last night to make soap for my 3lb mold, since I'm uncoordinated and really need something with a spout to not drip. At least since I haven't used it yet I can navigate it to my baking cupboard instead.
