    Favourite Recipes - Shampoo, Etc.

No, I've never had a problem. I've been making this recipe since I started 8 years ago. I do tell people that cinnamon essential oil isn't recommended for young children though.

    Favourite Recipes - Shampoo, Etc.

Hi Ladies, This is my first time posting, but I joined the forum a few years ago. Yes, I swirl both the peppermint and cinnamon buns. For the cinnamon, I take out some of the soap (maybe 2 cups), mix in my cinnamon well, then drizzle in the white soap after it's been placed in the mold. I...

    Favourite Recipes - Shampoo, Etc.

Here are some recipes that I thought other soapers might be interested in. They have been very successful for me over the past 8 years. Note: I take my water component, cut it in half when using milk, and mix my lye with only the water. I add the milk to the oils when I'm ready to mix in my...

    Suppliers?

I haven't used the bath butter, but their bubble bath is great. My son is allergic to the store brands, but not to ND's.

I can't remember the exact recipe, but there's a recipe for conditioner using BTMS (aka emulsifying conditioner) that watered down further, works quite well. It was something like: 85% distilled water 4% Aloe Juice 6% BTMS 5% Vegetable Glycerine Pinch Rosemary Extract is always good for...

    Suppliers?

I like www.elementsbathandbody.com (American) and www.newdirectionsaromatics.ca (they have an American site as well). They both have great prices and ND's essential oil quality is fantastic and they have some fantastic glass bottles. I usually buy my plastic bottles and twist up tubes from...

    How long do I blend?

I blend for 30 secondsish, then let it sit for like 20 mins. then blend a bit more and I keep doing this until there is no frothiness on top. I use guar gum in my recipes, so I think that contributes to the frothiness. I also let mine cool completely before bottling.

    beeswax

If you eliminate the wax, I wouldn't add any or much liquid oil to the recipe. And again, stick to hard butters like cocoa butter. I think it's worth a try and should work if sticking to hard butters.

    Lotion Bars

Grapeseed oil is another oil that absorbs quickly. I've never tried with ewax, but that would make it less greasy than the beeswax. I like the coconut oil idea too, as it seems to be less greasy.

    Herbal Bug spray

usually when you buy witch hazel it has alcohol in it already to preserve it, so you shouldn't have any problems. Plus a lot of the essential oils used to deter bugs are natural bacteria busters.

    Is beeswax considered and emulsifier?

I tried really hard a few years ago to use beeswax as an emulsifier. I wasn't very successful and didn't like the texture. However, if you want to try to make it work, I would try also using stearic acid and guar gum or xanthan gum. I never tried Borax, but it is a salt, so maybe adding salt...
