    Using salt in rebatch soap

Ugh!! I really wanted to make a salt bar as a foot scrub! What if I used a larger grsin salt and put it in at the very end, might that work?

    Using salt in rebatch soap

Thank you 😊 I will use a cavity mold to make things easier. I want to use it as a foot scrub bar. Do you think 75% of the batter weight will work? Add the salt just before pouring (likely scooping!) out?

Anyone Have Experience with Muddy Soap Company?

Hi, I know this is old post, but I’m looking for info on their tobacco vanille. Did you notice any cinnamon notes? I’ve been trying to find one that doesn’t! Thank you 😊

    Hot Process question re:additives

Bladesmith, that’s pretty much how I do it, as well. I use yogurt Sodium lactate AND sugar. I often use a large, electric turkey roaster for 5-8 lbs (splatters too much if less) and I’ve recently started using the microwave for smaller batches. Something I’ve learned recently, 100% CO REALLY...

    Bits of stuff in soap

NO ‘STUFF’ in soap! Besides the obvious, I don’t want to be washing it down my drain or picking it off of the shower floor!

    Sodium Lactate

I BELIEVE that it’s one tsp. PPO. I use it in every batch. I do HP and add it after cook as well.

    Making Whipped Body Butter

It was PERFECT! I couldn’t be happier! My first batch was too soft and greasy, second was pretty good, but too hard and not very whipped. My third I wasn’t happy with coconut oil in it. The fourth is a charm

    Making Whipped Body Butter

I haven't done it yet! Every time I can snatch a minute, I make soap! I intend to try this week

    Making Whipped Body Butter

Thank you! I’m hoping to keep coconut oil out, so I stayed at 60% of hard oils rather than 75% in hopes to compensate. I guess there’s only one way to find out!

    Making Whipped Body Butter

I've read, and tried, a few different ways to whip body butter. Sadly, I didn't keep good notes on my original batch because it was a nice whip. Today I read to begin whipping as it's cooling. I haven't tried this (has anyone?). I've cooled then whipped a couple of times. This time Im Planning...

Oil heavy, need to rebatch with lye

I had the advantage of the soap being VERY SOFT, and mistakenly using not much water to start with (was HP, 38% lye solution ). This is ALL because I've been too busy to make soap for a couple of months!! Ugh!!!
