    Jelly Soap Experience

Lush owns a patent on “Shower Jellies” I highly recommend reading through the entire terms of the patent and ensure you aren’t violating it before you sell it.

Will I get in trouble for this?

I have spoken with other soapers with national customer base who do not make bubble bars because it’s not possible to do without violating the patent in some way. I am not saying that it’s impossible but I am saying others have looked into and decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

my best combination which my youngest uses regularly (she has much worse eczema than I do) is mild baby soap with coconut oil and cerave moisturizing cream morning and night!

By stabilize I mean that the end result will in fact be saponified oils as opposed to separated acids, oils and soap. It is true that I use ph strips which after this thread I am reconsidering. I have made soap that reads in the 8 range and this was by adding acidic ingredients after...

Thanks for the great info! And I’m the same way with long explanations. I think I will make a soap that’s butter heavy and see how it goes!

It has been my understanding that soap with a ph 8 and above can stabilize and most soap has a ph of 9-11.

Palm-free replacements for Syndet Shampoo Ingredients

If it’s not for sale you could always use liquid shampoo and a reusable container. I’ve thought about this as well. I even thought about using a reusable container for customers and have a “refill” price for sending it back in. But I realize the likelihood that most would do that is very low.

Also Citric acid would be a good ingredient for ph! Remember skin has an acidic ph and soap by nature is alkaline. Any acids like citric acid, yogurt, acidic milk will help keep ph lower. More alkaline products will raise it. Check the ph of your additives, remember that processing changes the...

My Eczema soap is still too harsh...

Its my guess that there is too much coconut oil in this recipe I would strip it back to about 10% you can replace it with olive oil but it will need to cure for a few weeks longer. Also how long are you curing your soap? Make sure you cured the recipe you gave for a minimum of 6 weeks and if you...

    HP Soapmaking Friend Question

The first recipe has a lye and water discount in order to obtain a 5% superfat. The second recipe doesn’t include the discount because you will add the 1.5 oz after the lye and oils cook.

I think your recipe sounds so good for the skin and I’m glad it works well for you! Unfortuantely, I don’t use animal products or palm oil in my soaps. Thank you for the idea though!
