yeah over use of coconut oil might as well make it laundry detergent. but 5-10% is where I'm looking to go. and I could not find shea butter at three different locations but ended up finding avocado oil which might do me some justice as well....right?!
the shea butter hits the hardness of the soap fairly strongly. Ive always wanted to use it but I think it may be better if i did use that, to up the CO. also, does everyone just prefer the 5% SF? I feel like most of you responding are southerners. lol. in the NY area it gets really dry and a...
ok so i ended with
Tallow - 66%
OO- 16%
CO - 7 %
Palm oil - 7%
Castor - 4%
5% SF which seems low. i recall using usually at about 7% SF but how would that go with the tallow?
50 hardness
10 cleansing
48 conditioning
14 bubbly - -I think raising the castor would help this lowering the OO or PO...
I had used flax seed a little ways back and loved it. Interesting how much goes into preference with soap right?
and for Cinnamon I did not know. I will leave that out instead. perhaps some different scents.
This was literally almost what I was thinking. I enjoy 8% sf on non tallow based soaps and wanted the oo and Palm in that percentage. Your suggestion is near spot on. Though I really do enjoy some co in mine.
Hello. Trying to figure out a good recipe for a super moisturizing tallow bar. I would like to have a beef tallow. Coconut oil and Palm oil bar. Some olive oil for hardness. I plan on an orange cinnamon scent. Wanted to put some flax seeds for exfoliation as well. Castor oil is in stock for more...
thats gonna be a super soapy, lathery soap but, I feel that may just be able to stick two pieces of wood together. lol. I remember when i did what you did, probably alot worse. it was so sticky
looking at those colors, im not making that big of a batch, a little over 4lbs; is there a powdered version I can use? or something more manageable than a small flower that's an oz? lol
now that macaroon one sounds insanely good. I might have to buy extra for myself! I will also look up that red oxide, I think im gonna make a batch of CO soap and then empty 3/4s of it, and dye the 1/4 and layer it on top. I hope I can have them merge together with them being a few minutes...
Well ive been looking for a coconut raspberry scent and have no luck finding it. If I found that combo or if anyone knows where I can find it, that would be awesome. color wise, ive seen a glycerin/oil layered soap before, I know its possible at least. but if I can make 3/4s a batch just the...
