Another word on the cost of a multi-cutter...sure, they are pricey but they are cheaper than the ER co-insurance for "mishaps" from using that cute pink super sharp ceramic knife. They are an investment...for me especially since my manual dexterity is waning.
Just my experience. For those who...
Yup...I was shocked when i called for a bag a few months ago and heard the price...Del Amo had it for 55 bucks as well. But such is the supply chain since covid. It beats ordering online though for 3 or 4 bucks per pound
I'm in Los Angeles....Del Amo chemical is where I buy my lye from - 50lb bag for about $90. I transfer it to gallon jugs i got from oline & pop in silica packs to combat any moisture. No issues with it. Saves a lot of money

After a fruitless forum search, I wanted to start a new thread regarding larger scale equipment. I have been semi-thrust into uncharted territory where larger batch sizes are needed to get wholesale orders done. I have already acquired my filling machine but i am looking for the right overhead...
For larger capacity slab molds you can always find a good wooden wine box at Total Wine & More for 5 bucks! Port & magnum champagne boxes are quite thick & insulate well.
I think i'm happy with my recreation!! I'm also in Los Angeles so shipping would be a lot. But do try thae ratios i mentioned. It may be your solution. I'm loving it!!
