Partial gel, soap is still hot; can I force full gel still?

I'll have to figure out how to post pics here, I haven't done that yet! The soap did mostly gel, there is a very thin layer on the top that is lighter and looks lightly dusty; I'm sure it's ash, but doesn't look the same as a different batch that I got ash on. I used BB Beach Breezes FO and...

Partial gel, soap is still hot; can I force full gel still?

Great! Thank you! I did end up putting it back on the heating pad while waiting for some replies and it does look like it's finally starting to gel, but I have also noticed that the edges from other batches seem to take forever. And then some have gelled within minutes....urrgghh!! Thanks for...

Partial gel, soap is still hot; can I force full gel still?

Hi; CP soap with buttermilk powder; I tried to force gel with a heating pad but after about an hour the soap looked ungelled still so I removed the pad and just left it alone. After about two hours I couldn't stand it and had to slice an end off just to make sure it didn't partially gel, and it...

How to ship soap w/o fragrances blending?!

Oh, great! Thank you! I don't even know how to package the bars? I thought about wrapping in tissue paper, then using packing shreds in a cardboard box, but that's why I was afraid the scents would blend; that the tissue paper wouldn't keep them contained. But then, I worried also that...

How to ship soap w/o fragrances blending?!

I don't sell soap and I won't be; strictly a hobby for me! I would like to ship some of my soaps to family/friends that have been asking since my first batches, but I don't know how to mix multiple bars in one box without the different fragrances blending together?! I'd rather not ship in...

    Disaster...*UPDATE*

Also, most of my HP soap does go through a solid phase quickly at first, then to gel. At first I thought I'd ruined my batches but I just leave it alone until the solid island in the middle disappears, or almost. Don't try to mix that solid part in with the gelled part; it leaves little white...

Can I possibly use blush to color soap?!

    Okay, great! Thank you!

Can I possibly use blush to color soap?!

Thank you for all the replies! I've already made a red wine soap; I used Merlot and it turned my soap very dark but beautiful, so don't really want two soaps the same color. I don't have any red clay, but the roobios tea is interesting to me.... I also have turmeric and paprika; it does...

Can I possibly use blush to color soap?!

I don't sell, this is strictly for me. I want to make a reddish, rusty, fall colored soap and don't have any real colorants, so wondered how blush would work? Has anyone tried it?! Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Beer Soap Great for Father's Day

okay, thank you! I did make a wine soap and boiled enough to get rid of the alcohol but it also reduced the wine some so had to add some water back to equal the right amount. But doing it this way I had no issue with vocano-ing at all; just a ton of stink!! Like very, VERY smelly feet! LOL...

Beer Soap Great for Father's Day

How long do you need to boil the beer to boil off the alcohol?

I'm so confused! What do the numbers mean?!

I've tried several different recipes, some basic, some with much nicer ingredients, but I can't seem to figure out what is causing what! So far, I think my best bubbly lather comes from this recipe: Almond Oil 10% Olive Oil 40% Lard 25% Castor Oil 10% Coconut Oil 15% SF...

    Weird spotting!

I just had a batch that turned out like that; I'd planned to CP it but it went to trace immediately and then started to rice or seize, I haven't decided which yet LOL, so I threw it in the crockpot hoping to save it. I did, but now it looks just like your soap. I'm such a newbie I don't have any...

    OMH from different suppliers

It was in the small size but I bought the 8 oz bottle for $10 because I LOVE almond, but after making soap with it wish I hadn't! It has turned a weird purplish-tan color and smells kind of like play-doh :? I was hoping that would go away after curing for a few weeks but it hasn't. My kids love...

    OMH from different suppliers

Hi, I just received my order of FO's from Brambleberry and one was Oatmeal Milk and Honey. I am very disappointed to find that it smells EXACTLY like the Almond Honey FO that I bought from Hobby Lobby!! I'm hoping I can get some descriptions from different suppliers of this fragrance and...
