Thank you, I've yet to get mica from TKB but I've had my eye on trying some eventually!
I have no idea why I never decided to try that one lol. Thank you.
Oooh, that sounds interesting. I've never heard of them before, I'll check them out!
Thank you thank you, I'll look into those! I have...
I'm looking for some recs for some yellow micas that remain vibrant since all of the ones I've tried have faded pretty badly. I've been using Love & Sunshine (Nurture), Lemon Drop (Nurture), and Yellow (BB) but I'm not the happiest with them. I know yellow tends to fade easier.
I once got a 1 oz sample of a FO to test that had no reviews for acceleration nor ricing and I had a cool swirl planned for it. I added it in at emulsion and within 30 seconds it started ricing and accelerating to the point that I had to just shovel it out with a spoon into the mold and then...
Yeah I'm really quite surprised haha. I've really never seen this before. The only I've heard of micas just vanishing were of purples and stuff not CP stable.
So I was cutting a loaf of soap today with a fragrance, mica and recipe I've used just fine and dandy prior. When I cut into the loaf it had this weird partial gel where the mica just sort of vanished. I have to say I didn't see this coming at all as I worked with a 35% lye concentration...
Thank you for your help. I've not ordered oils from WSP yet but I'm definitely going to have to try their palm oil. The container Natures Garden has their palm oil in looks sort of like an extra tall jug of water with a small opening. Why they decided to package it like that, I'm not sure, but...
The container is the kind that can't be scooped but only poured from, unfortunately. The only way to get it out is to melt it. I really have no idea why it's so grainy. Imagine taking oil and then throwing sand into it and that's exactly what it looks and feels like. It happens in all recipes...
Wow, that sure sounds like a journey lol. I totally didn't even consider the fact that I could be messing things up with repetitive heating but it totally makes sense for it to mess the oil up to a degree. Using the grainy palm oil in an exfoliating soap definitely seems like a nice idea to use...
I got it from Natures Garden which is normally great. Which supplier do you get your no-stir from?
Natures Garden is where I got it from. I can just tilt the bar to hit the light right and see all of the grit but it's really hard to capture it on my phone camera. I tried. The more you rub on it...
So I don't know if I'm crazy or what but I've melted this new gallon of palm oil I got much hotter than melting point and mixed the heck out of it and it's still as if there is sand all in it. Yes, it's palm oil and not palm kernel oil. Yes, I melted it hot enough and mixed it enough. The...
