    We always put the net weight on the lables. As for our state inspector more is always better then less.

    I agree with every one .... keep it legal. Shop around for insurance because there are a few insurance companies that work with small businesses and specialize in soap companies. My local insurance co here wanted over $1000. But searching I found it for half the cost for double the coverage...

    Cutting Soap

    I just used a cheese slicer from Goodwill I paid $3 dollars for. It was the one that sits on the counter and has a replaceable wire. It worked awesome!!! I now have a better cutter but I wont part with my other cheese cutter for smaller loafs and cuts.

    If there is electric Home Depot sells a mini selfcontained A/C unit where you place in the center of the room to keep cool. Would also be good for Hurricane Season :) This would keep your soaps cool during the brutal summers and during the winter you should not need it. I live about 2 hours...

    Good luck on trying to find it also. I too have been looking so I can make the frosting on the bath bombs. I found the liquid and have been playing around with it trying to make the frosting and have done it but not to my standards yet. I did find it localy but they wanted $50.00 for a cup...

    Yes you still need to mix till trace. Then cook through.

    I agree on the insurance and business license if you plan on selling it. I sell at a local farmers market and they require it. On good weeks we can sell over $200 worth of soap at 3 to 4 dollars a bar....thats a lot of soap

    My wife and I sell our soaps at a farmers market and do very well. we sell our 3oz EO bars for $4 a bar and we cant keep it in stock. We were thinking about raising our prices but I dont know if the customers would or want to pay the increase. We buy in bulk and our cost per bar is now lower...

    Cleansing soap recipes vs. not so cleansing

    I use 25% coconut oil in all my soaps. If I dont I cant seem to get the bubbly and creamy high on soapcalc. Plus I been adding different amounts of castor oil up to 10% But I want to try a 100% olive oil soap with no coconut to see how that does.. I also heard people making 100%...
