I store my lye in the garage and measure it out outside under our porch overhang. Anything that is spilled will fall on concrete and I then pour vinegar over the area...I generally do this even if I don't think I spilled anuything cause I'm worried about animals stepping on it.

I would let it sit for a while longer. I generally don't think about cutting any time before 24 hours. But I have also had soaps that needed 2-3 days to harden enough to cut. Hang in there I'm sure it will be fine.
