The US Federal Trade Commission is proposing new guidelines that would restore anti monopoly regulations that used to prevent one company completely dominating an industry or eating up all its competitors.
They are asking for comments on the new rules and how they might affect us (or would have if the old ones were still enforced) before the end of September.
As the indie soap & beauty industry has recently seen a bunch of consolidation and closings leaving one player really dominating fragrance supplies for us, it seems like a lot of us would have comments. These reborn rules might well have stopped WSP & its venture capitalists buying out all those other vendors, for example.
