I've got a few bottles of different kinds of olive oil (pure, extra virgin and light) that may have 4-6 ounces left in them, and I want to make a castille soap. Do you think mixing the different olive oils would be a bad idea? There isn't enough in any one bottle for a full batch of soap, so I thought it might be an interesting experiment.

Whaddaya say?

I haven't made it yet. The problem is, I think, I ran a 100% olive oil soap through soapcalc, and I don't really like any of the properties! No cleansing, soft, etc. I may have to rethink this idea.

Soapcalc isn't particularly accurate when it comes to high OO or Castillle soaps.

Use a stiff water discount and before long the soap will be as hard as a brick. It will also be very conditioning.

It will benefit from a good long cure. I made some Castille on January 1. I'm thinking I might try a bar around July 4.
