So excited. I did the hot process in a crockpot instead of cold pour. I didn't want to wait 4-6 weeks to use it. I think I used the wrong thing to color the soap with. I got the Sparkle Emerald Green Soap Color Bar from WSP not realizing it was for M&P. I used it anyway. As soon as I started mixing it in the soap I got a grey mess with hints of the green. I want to do a green swirl since I used Lemongrass & Spearmint essential oils.
This is the recipe I used (numbers from soapcalc):

Coconut Oil 20 % - 6.4 oz
Lard 30% - 9.6 oz
Olive Oil 25 % - 8 oz
Shea Butter 20 % - 1.6 oz
Castor Oil 5% - 1.6 oz

Water 12.16 oz
Lye 4.31 oz

Hardness 42
Cleansing 14
Conditioning 54
Bubbly 18
Creamy 32
Iodine 56
INS 148

So far with the little pieces I had left in the pot it has great lather.

Hopefully I can get pics uploaded here in a few.

I'm just excited that I didn't have a total flop. Now I want to tell everyone. Is this normal..hehe.

Congatulations ---Soapmaking is very addictive. You may begin to crave oils that last week you did not know existed. The way you begin to look at the cooking oils at the grocery store will make the other shoppers give you wide berth. Enjoy! :!:
