I almost fainted out of excitment, we have a new super Walmart and they carry now goatsmilk in a can and 100% coconut oil....just needed to get this out of my system

I know, I used to have to travel to get co, now my walmart has it too!

I hate Walmart for almost everything (and mine is really bad- dirty, bad parking, incompetent staff) but its a soapers dream!

Things I've gotten at Walmart:
Coconut Oil
Olive Oil (Cheap)
Lard
Palm Oil
GV Shortning (Now, I'm an Oil/Butter snob, but this stuff makes great soap!)
(All in the baking section)
Goats Milk (in a can- across the aisle from the oils)
Castor Oil ($2-something for 6 oz.- Pharmacy section)
small Plastic Buckets for mixing lye and soap (CHEAP) Painting section.

Seriously, its a top tip for new soaper- Go to Walmart!

goats milk? cool will look i am there weekly for juice bread ect better price than my local store . I love it for O.O and coconut alsio if in pinch castor in pharm dept. All pretty cheap.

PipiL: you can find palm oil as shortening . The brand is Spectrum. It is really expensive to buy it this way but in a pinch it works just fine. It is 100% palm oil and very white. My WalMart does not carry food products but if yours does, look for it near the Crisco. I find Spectrum brand in the local health food store and sometimes in the regular market as well. It comes in a little tub.

Im glad you posted this. Ive been waiting on olive oil to go on sale at the grocery store and it never dawned on me to go to Walmart!

we have an ethnic produce market, they have tons of metal jugs of olive oil for a good price.....

I've been buying my OO at Kroger. It's like $17 something a gallon for the store brand. A friend of mine checked Sam's for me and The Bertolli is only $13 something for the same amount. It might just be worth buying a Sam's membership.

Awesome - going to Walmart this week for supplies.

In CT you can buy raw goats milk and cows milk in the market. Funny I have to invest over 40,000 on equiptment to be able to sell my goats milk and goats cheese. I don't have to do anything to use it in my soap :)

I can also sell it to other soapers. It would have to be local because it wouldn't be cost effective to ship next day frozen when you can buy powdered or canned. But if anyone is near Sterling, ct - let me know I can hook you up with fresh milked goats milk :)

Just got back from our Walmart. They didn't have coconut oil and the OO was about 20.5 cents an oz, so probably not a great price but I needed it anyway.

I paid $ 7 for 51 oz of olive pomace oil...I stick with that I guess, since I read it is not that much of a difference and pomace traces really fast, which I find true...I do hae a Sam's membership, should check it out, too.

Scratch and Dent pile....

Every Walmart I go to has coconut oil in the oil section to the left of the olive oil... Cheap castor oil too in the pharmacy section.... Yes to canned goat's milk at all too....
I travel to Ilinois often enough to go to an ethnic store that carries many many kinds of pomice oil cheap..... Gotta shop around! This hobby is expensive!!!
