COVID ruins plans…

My daughter and her 7 yo were planning to visit from the west coast arriving today, but she texted last night to say he just tested positive. I’m so disappointed. My husband recently got over Covid, he was taking care of some family issues out of state but his plans were likewise interrupted. I realize that many people have much worse outcomes than interrupted plans. I’m just sad not to see my family.

I'm sad for you @VickiC. I know what it is like to have your children and grandchildren living far away. Each visit is so precious.

Sorry to hear this @Vicki C. We are back to mandated mask wearing in my hospital…. Hope your family is ok, and that the visit can be rescheduled soon.

The night before we were supposed to take off to see my oldest daughter last year, her partner tested positive so we had a staycation instead.

My husband gave me jewelry for our anniversary this year...I gave him Covid.

They were traveling to go to her grandmother’s funeral - my ex’s mother - I’m not invited. I would have had them for less than 24 hours, but still… Her husband’s grandmother’s funeral is scheduled for the same day, but is in Japan, so he is there - so in a way it’s lucky they didn’t all make that journey.
It’s time for me to start looking at tickets!

Yea that's a bummer. Sure am glad i never got vaccinated for the last 25 years since i never got sick during covid and wasn't even worried about it.
