I used Castor Oil for the first time in soap after joining this forum and finally got to use some today. Wow what a nice surprise!! Thank you for those who suggested it (Susie!) I can't believe that only 5% made so much difference! I LOOOOVE it!!!!

I used some castor oil not too long ago myself. I must say, I'm more excited about this particular bar than my other ones. The pieces that broke off feel so good. Waiting is unbearable.

The waiting is insane. I know I must but I hate it so much lol. I have my tallow soap curing and it won't be ready for at least another week. I really should wait 3 more weeks for a better cure but 6 weeks is really tough lol.

I try every soap weekly starting at 4 weeks. I just gave away some 4 week old soap. It was marvelous in the shower, so everyone got one with instructions to get them out of the bags and let them air if they are not being used right away.

I use at least 5% Castor oil in most of my soap.

I use 5% castor oil in all my soaps, and up the percentage for salt bars.

I love castor. It adds such a wonderful creamy 'oomph' or 'body' to my bubbly lather. I use it anywhere from 8% to 20%, depending on my recipe (the 20% goes in my shaving soap).
