Hi all, I'm looking to make a soap for my aunt who has extreme dry skin from thyroid issues. I just wanted to see what you would suggest before I take a hack at it based on my own research. ideas for toddler soaps, lotions, oils, etc. please

im thinking along that route as well when it comes to lye. I think i might look into m&p for them, and then the crayon soaps look fun too. I wont be able to much money into it, so it may have to be made out of what i have, or it will have to wait a while.

Suggestions for facial scrub please :)

The avocado oil and sugar i have been using doesn't work for me. The oil has caused acne, and the sugar is a bit too rough. I am researching jojoba beads and will try it in another oil, maybe just olive oil, my skin does well with that. If that doesn't work, i keep reading back through here and...

Suggestions for facial scrub please :)

Well last night i used kosher salt in castile soap to wash with. I knew all of you would be right in that it would be too harsh, it was, but it is a good wash to do every once in a while. Tonight i will try sugar in avocado oil and see how that feels. Thanks everyone!

What Do You Think of This? (No trace, no gel.)

i have to smile because as soon as you said "Myths in soap making" i knew exactly which book you were talking about, the same Anne watson i read when i started soaping. Ok, so a recent visit from my mother with her five times in three days statement of " you're looking like a mountain woman, you need exfoliation" got me to thinking about this. Soap for elderly skin

the lather is awesome. extremly cream and smooth. the only downfall aside from cost that is, is that the bar is hard to hold onto! i drop it atleast once each shower :) that is a minor issue. i really love this soap. im sure it would harden up over time, but it would have to be a very long time...

    Soap for elderly skin

oh yeah it is. This is one i will only make for myself, or his grandmother. Everyone else who requests it will definitely have to cover costs on it. if i actually sold my soaps, i think this one would be sitting on the shelf for a very long time due to its price!!!! :) i think the next batch...

    Intentionally 'skin drying' soap.

the soap i made in this thread http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?t=39836 yielded a very drying soap. And for me, that is all it did, dry me out, no other reactions. Cant vouch what it would do for your friend though. hope this helps.
