I made a few batches of soap for the first time in 2014. But an ill dog and life distracted me. I jumped back in last weekend and used this recipe. Thank you! I took some pieces after cutting and washed my hands and the lather was very nice.

I tried washing with the soap from my first batch (that cracked). The soap was full of ash. I did experience a clear slimey-ness. These are only about 5 weeks old tho. I did not experience over-drying on the hands. I am chalking it up to the newness of the soap. * listen to me...talking...

Very nice mold. I had bought a wooden one originally before I realize how easy it would be to make. Just FYI...I noticed the one I bought had a few small holes drilled in the bottom to allow ease when releasing the mold....not as much suction. Not sure if it really serves the purpose but...

I was a wonderin'... If I were to buy non hydrogenated lard, do you have to somehow compensate for that? Not too familiar with non hydrogenated but hydrogenated seems pretty fluffy.
