Actually I think it is the exact opposite. The oils rose to the top of the soap. I had to soak up the oil with a napkin. It appeared that all of the olive oil had risen to the top. It was weird. I'm thinking that I put to much oil in.

I used 1 1/2 cups of M&P clear glycerin soap

I have used M&P a few times. I always like to add extra oils, fragrances, colors & oatmeals. What I have found is that most pre made soap bases take well to oils & other additives except for clear glycerin M&P. I found that the oil actually collects on the top of the soap after it hardens.

1T Cocoanut oil 1T Olive oil I poured in soap molds, it got hard but then I seen that there was oil on the top of the soap. Why did that happen???

I'll try the books. I'm wondering if this happened b/c I put each layer in the fridge to harden then poured hot soap on top of the cold soap. That maybe why it didn't adhere to each other. Not really sure?

Yes, I did spritz with rubbing alcohol.

I used goats milk w/ coffee grounds on the outer layers & clear glycerin w/ cocoanut oil, olive oil & sweet orange essential oil for the 3 inside layer. I am new to soap making & I would like to make coconut soap. I'm not decided if I want to do HP or CP, but my question is, when making coconut soap do I need to used organic unrefined or refined or any type???

I do like for the soaps to be the exact weight as stated but as far as shiny & polished. I don't mind. I kinda like the homemade imperfect rustic look.
