always made a little xtra like if the mold says 1.5 lbs. I calculated for 2. not a big deal was just wondering if I was doing it right

I made a wood mold 18x2.75x3.5 and when I do the calc. it comes up 69.3 oz. equaling 4.3 lbs. but when I run it thru soap calc. as 100% olive oil it states 6.5 lbs so my question is which number will fill the mold. I have had this issue with all my molds I have made

no it was raw oil I read in a earlier post don't remember who but they said pine tar wont saponify 100% that's kinda where I got the idea now I look back kinda dumb idea

I got a deal (well I think I did) on 50 lb bag of lye from my local chem. guy would it be ok to split it up into canning jars or should it be the plastic jars?
