Planing soap - what type is best?

I plane all my soaps. I purchased a wooden one from Cedar Mountain Crafts that I've been using for years. If you are going to make a rustic looking bar just taking the edge off with a potato peeler works great. I make "fancier" swirled soap, so in order to see the design better you do need to...

Why do recipes have high cleansing number

Couldn't agree more with some of the previous comments. The fun is in experimenting, understanding a particular oil's properties and using it to your advantage. I keep my cleansing number between 15 & 17 with a 6% sf.

    International Question

I received two separate requests today for shipping overseas stating that I had to use their preferred carrier. One of them has contacted me for a second time even after I told her I didn't ship overseas, because I smelled a scam coming. One of them actually took the time to write down the...

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

JayJay, I infused the OO with chamomile and henna, and I added a tbsp to the actual batter. This time I'm going to add an additional tbsp in hopes it will cover some the new growth that is gray.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

I've used a modified version of this recipe for about 2 year now. I did notice that my hair was getting a little rougher looking. I added henna mainly to see if it would hide the gray. Wow that made all the difference in the world. I use a ACV rinse and blow dry as well as use a flat iron. My...

    E-wax in body butter

I live in S. FL and have had the same issues with my body butters. I've also just stopped selling them during the hot summer months. I just ordered Butter EZ from Lotion Crafters (I didn't see it on the WSP site). Can't wait to try it and see if it will help.

    Why is shipping so high?

I don't even order from BB anymore. Not only is the shipping too high, but delivery is really slow, because I'm across the country. The shipment costs for my oils and butters is what gets me, and I'm only able to get OO locally.

Aloe Vera powder in a body butter

I have no water in this recipe. The company that I purchased it from said that it is water soluble. But I was wondering if it will just stay suspended in the body butter and still provide some benefits.

Aloe Vera powder in a body butter

Hi everyone, This is my first time making a body butter and I was wondering if I could add some aloe vera powder in it. My butter consists of cocoa and shea butters, plus jojoba and sweet almond oils with some vitamin e. All the sites said that it is water soluble, but I would really like...
