Yes, pure white name brand Crisco, 5% superfat and no other additives-- just water, lye, and Crisco. It is the Crisco that includes some palm. I was expecting a white soap. Any theories as to why my soap is not white?

I have not used soap that old. My MIL recently ran out of her stockpile of my soap, and a friend mentioned that she ran across a bar in a box. I took a 15ish year break from soapmaking so these were at least that old. Both said the soap was just fine.

I have tried at least a dozen recipes but he always made recipes that are fairly balanced in Soap Calc. I am curious whether anyone has a basic CP recipe that is imbalanced according to Soap Calc but that you really enjoy. If so, I would love to hear about it.

I have quite a bit of eucalyptus lemon (eucalyptus citriodora) that I would like to use in CP soap. I was hoping to find some simple blends, but EO Calc doesn't have this as an option to search. Any suggestions for blends? TIA!
