Where did the Scent Review Board go?

Thanks to everyone who replied! Oddly enough, the page opens when I click on the link in this thread, but not when I type it in manually. Computers are strange creatures!

Where did the Scent Review Board go?

Hello fellow CPers, I was hoping to double check on some of the FOs I've recently purchased (to see if they accelerate and what not), and for some reason I'm getting the dreaded 404 "page not found" error message every time I try to access the page! What the heck happened? Are any of you...

    WSP Silicone Molds

I own two of the green silicone molds from WSP as well - they work great! They sometimes are a bit tricky to get the soap out of, but you just have to turn it over and give the bottom of the mold a good press to release the vacuum holding the soap in there. I find that recipes that use about...

    Favorite "alternative" CP oils?

Hi there, Thank you for your replies! I have been using unrefined shea and cocoa butter (purchased from TKB Trading) in some of my recipes and am going to try avocado next. What in particular do you like about those ingredients? Do they just create a silkier feel to the overall bar? Also...

    Adding powdered colorants

Perfect timing, as I'm about to try some pop micas in my soap tonight - thank you for the tip! :D

    Favorite "alternative" CP oils?

Hi everyone, Since I'm a newbie and would like to experiment with "alternative" oils, I was wondering what some of your favorites were. Anything beyond the basics, like palm, coconut, lard and olive. What are your favorite "alternative" or luxury oils to use in the CP process, and why? I'm...

GM soap - to gel, or not to gel?

Great information, thank you so much! I think I'm going to make new batches as soon as I can and try not gelling this time so I can compare the two. I will be sure to post photos!

GM soap - to gel, or not to gel?

Ooh, thank you for the information and the photos! My pumpkin batch seems to have weathered the gelling process a bit better than the oatmeal/honey batch, but I imagine that's due to the honey. It did seem to gel really suddenly and I ended up with a wrinkled top, so I'm just hoping that will...

GM soap - to gel, or not to gel?

May I ask why, specifically? Is it a texture/color issue? Do you find that the soap curing time is much delayed if you don't gel, or is the difference negligible? Also, how do you prevent it, by placing it in the freezer or refrigerator? And, just so I can thoroughly riddle you with questions -...

GM soap - to gel, or not to gel?

Hi everyone, I made my first attempt at GM soap last night - two batches, one pumpkin pie soap and another oatmeal, honey and almond soap. For both batches I added a small amount of cold goat's milk (about 2 tablespoons) at trace and it seemed to mix in fine. Well, as I typically gel my soaps...

What does it mean if soap tries to "rice"?

Thank you for the info, everyone! Hopefully I won't have my own personal experience with ricing any time soon...

What does it mean if soap tries to "rice"?

No, I don't believe so - I saw it in several posts and it was listed separately from tracing mentions. I have a feeling it has something to do with the texture of the soap, that maybe it causes separation between the oils or something along those lines...

What does it mean if soap tries to "rice"?

Hi there, Forgive me if this subject has been covered previously (I can't seem to find it in the search engine or on Google), but I've been scanning the Scent Review boards and keep coming across this term of "ricing". As in, "this soap tried to rice on me when I added the FO". What on earth...

What's In Your Soap Pot This Week-End? (24th-25th Oct)

Think I'm going to try a triple layered chocolate (white and dark) bar, mmm.... I made a lavender soap last night and can't stand it - I'm just not a floral girl and I miss my foodie scents!
