    Problem not had before..excess oils.

I also bought fragrance oils from natures garden. Unless there are a lot of reviews, i usually take them with reservation. The thing you don't know is what oils were used to make the batch that got positive reviews. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Problem not had before..excess oils.

I had that happen once. It separated almost exactly like yours. The culprit in my case was something nobody else mentioned. The scent. Was this a new fragrance oil that you've never tried before? Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

Center of CP soap cake still soft

I cut the soap tonight. Despite being a little soft, it turned out! To answer a previous question, my 18 pound slab molds produce 60 bars that measure 2 1/2" X 3 1/4" X 1". Thanks to everybody. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

Center of CP soap cake still soft

I checked on it his morning and it appears to be hardening up. I did have to use paper towel to remove excess oil. I'm expecting oil pockets when I eventually do cut it. That's the crazy thing about soap making. You can do everything exactly the same from batch to batch and the unexpected...

Center of CP soap cake still soft

I'm afraid it's too soft to cut. It's strange, after doing somewhere around 200 batches, something like this happens. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

Center of CP soap cake still soft

Hi, I made an 18# batch of soap yesterday using a recipe that I've used successfully in the past. When I checked on it today, 24 hours later, the center of the cake is still somewhat soft to the touch. Any idea what happened? Can it be salvaged? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPad using...

Has anyone seen this CP video on Youtube?

I've been melting my solid oils with the hot lye for quite some time now. Actually a couple years. The only time there may be a problem is when the majority of the oils are solid. Then I give the process a boost by meeting them a little prior to adding the hot lye. I also use s potato masher...

    Silicone slab mold

I received my molds from Silvermoon Soap Molds. They look fantastic. The silicone liner is a full 1/4" thick on all of the sides and bottom. The support boxes that I bought with them are quality products as well. I can't wait to put them to use.

    Silicone slab mold

Franklin is a suburb of Milwaukee. I'm looking for a mold to produce a slab 15" long x 10" wide x 3.25" high. However, I want the mold to be 4" high so that I can use a wooden lid for insulation.

    Silicone slab mold

I do like the look of the molds offered by Woodfields. Unfortunately all of my wrappers and equipment are set up for a particular size bar and their stock molds don't work and they don't make custom size molds. I have been looking at Silvermoon's molds. They will make a custom size slab mold...

    Need a curing rack!!!

I use wire shelf racks that you can buy from most any big box store. Air circulate freely and you can get a lot of soap on one rack.
