It's been a while, but I'm back at it.

Thanks! Lard is fairly easy to work with. And all things considered, this batch of soap cost me, what.. four bucks? Can't complain there, that's for sure!

It's been a while, but I'm back at it.

I thank you kindly. I used the 'In the pot swirl' method I found a tutorial for on youtube. Or I may have been linked to it somewhere on here. I don't really remember.

It's been a while, but I'm back at it.

Hello friends, I've missed y'all! I don't know how most of you feel about food these days, but when I buy meat at the grocery store I tend to feel like I wasted my money. It's just not very good anymore. I know I'm not as old as some of you, but I remember when meat was aged; it was tender...

It tasted pretty great at rackings. I'm a pretty firm believer that hops go in just about everything ;) Stay hoppy, stay happy ;D

    Grapeseed or EVOO?

Just curious which you all prefer between the two. Soapcalc says the grapeseed is slightly more conditioning than EVOO, but what I like about it is that it doesn't have an oily smell. Also, I sold my first two bars yesterday! I didn't even mean to, I brought them as a gift for my lady friend I...

    Speaking of Shortages

I had ordered some TiO2 on eBay that just came in today, too :) All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I just don't think it's a very cost effective alternative. I'm sure if used as intended the eyeshadow would last a while, but for coloring soap, you sure don't get a lot of it.

    Speaking of Shortages

This is one of my eyeshadow concoctions. The other one is too light and the camera flash.. meh. Anyway, the color held up fairly well. The lighter blues seem to hold up better than the darker ones. The mauve like color here started out as more of a navy blue, so that morphed pretty bad, but the...

    Home Brew

High 60's to low 80's is usually a pretty acceptable range. Each yeast strain is a little bit different and it will work outside of the optimal range, just slower. I've had brews ferment as high as 95 degrees, but I usually do a few months of bulk aging on my summer brews just to make sure it's...

I haven't made any grain alcohols yet. I probably won't because it's illegal to distill anything in-home in WI. But Lime Rum sounds amaaazzzing ;D
