    Lye Calculator Vs Reality

Thank you for your post. What you are saying is true. Aside from cleansing 100PKO is very drying to the skin. But 100%Tallow is milder. Yes my laundry bar is for hand washing and not for machine. How can i increase the cleansing property with additives? What kind of additive? Thank you.

    Lye Calculator Vs Reality

Hello, Please help me out with the soap calculator. I’ve been making laundry bar 100% PKO with 0% Superfat using online soapcalc until I change the recipe to 80% PO and 20%PKO. Check the attached recipe. The result on soap calc is completely different from what it is in reality. 80PO:20PKO is...

PKO and CO Vs PO, Tallow and Lard

Thank you Earlene for your insightful contributions. I actually rendered goat tallow today. I have an option of beef and goat tallow and I'll go for goat. It appears it has slight edge over many other tallows. Also it appears easier to render than beef.

PKO and CO Vs PO, Tallow and Lard

I was just on the site before I notice your post. Thank you all the same. I've seen this site severally. But recently I stumble on the site i posted above. When I studied it carefully I noticed it contradicted with what I knew about CO and PKO in terms of their cleansing power as compared to PO...

PKO and CO Vs PO, Tallow and Lard

Hello fellow Soapers, I need some ideas about PKO and CO Vs PO, Tallow(Beef and Goat) and Lard. I've read that 1.) PKO and CO can be use interchangeably and also PO, Tallow and Lard. I've confirm this is so. 2.) PKO and CO are harder, foamy and cleanses more than PO, Tallow and Lard...

sodium carbonate and sodium sulphate in laundry bar soap

That web link is not mine and not even my procedure. I use lye calculator, weigh my oils, NaOH and fragrances. I don't use hydrometer and i don't measure volumes.

sodium carbonate and sodium sulphate in laundry bar soap

My intention was to know why they are using these two compounds in their production and what could be the outcome. I now know they are not necessary in my recipe. Also that web link is not mine and not even my procedure. I use lye calculator, weigh my oils, NaOH and fragrances. I don't use...

sodium carbonate and sodium sulphate in laundry bar soap

Thank you for your post. I want to believe the main reason is for the quantity of the final product. This in order to maximize profit. But the products are not that cheap here. So at the end difference is not that significant.

sodium carbonate and sodium sulphate in laundry bar soap

Thank you very much for your advise. I'm only a beginner and I learned everything online. But I noticed that our local homemade bar soap makers are doing something different and they all add the two compound to their recipe. A look at the site below shows how our local make their bar soap ...

sodium carbonate and sodium sulphate in laundry bar soap

Thank you. My quest is to make best laundry bar soap possible with PKO. My soap is not for bathing but washing clothes. I know sodium carbonate and sulphate could be added in liquid soap and detergent. So when some soapers around added them in their laundry bar soap, I was wondering it...

sodium carbonate and sodium sulphate in laundry bar soap

Thank you Susie and The Efficacious Gentleman for post. I believed it will bring more bubbly and cleansing power and probably increases the final quantity of the soap. I don't really know. Almost all the soap makers around me add that to their recipe though they don't scale any of their items...
