Has anyone ever used raw hemp seed in their soap? Do you know of any potential problems with it going bad? I chopped some and stirred it into my hp soap made with hemp milk. I also pressed some whole seeds on the top. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any problems with using this raw product...
Oh my gosh....you would have had nothing but headaches if you had worked with this person! Consider yourself lucky to figure out early that their chain is slipping!
I used the low setting on the crock pot, but I'll try your suggestion about not stirring so much. I stirred it much more than what you've said I should. Thanks!
The first few times I made hot process soap, this didn't happen. The last couple of times I've made it though, dry soap from the side of the crock pot gets stirred in to the rest of it and leaves dry looking, whitish chunks in my finished soap. Why is this happening? :?:Thank you in advance!
I don't have a digital tester so I don't know specific levels. I've only used the Phenolphthalein with the hot process method and cooked the soap until it no longer turns pink when dropped in to the batch in the crockpot. With the cold process method I've just waited the length of time as...
I put it in to a loaf mold, let it cool then turned it out and sliced it in to bars. It's been curing for several weeks. I use Phenolphthalein liquid to check the ph. Regarding correct measurements; yes, I believe so, but I didn't do the measuring. My SIL did. It started out as hot process but...
I used the recipe I always use which always cooks up fine. We used my soap crock pot as usual. Normally it doesn't take more than 45 minutes but this batch was left for a couple of hours. I use ph liquid for testing.
I finally gave up on it cooking to nuetrality and put it into a mold and then cut and left to cure like a cold process batch. That was the last week in June, '14. It's still testing pink. Will it ever cure? I didn't make the batch, it's one I talked my SIL through and I don't know what happened...
