    Anise blend help!

Thank you everyone, and thanks for the welcome back Lion of Judah! I went with a 1:1 Anise and 10X orange e/o. We'll see how it cures out. I can definitely smell mostly anise, but that is good because it's for my brother and he loves it. :)

New Soaping Room & Christmas Soaps

Your soaping space reminds me of the room I had in our house. I used an Ivar system for storage and shelving as well. Now I have to soap in my kitchen- so not handy! Great space you have there.

    Anise blend help!

Hello and hey to anybody who remembers me here! I haven't made soap for a few years. Life got kind of crazy, but I dragged out my supplies a few days ago so I could make some soap for holiday gifting. My brother loved a soap I made once using Star Anise E/O. Personally, I thought using it...

What do you do with extra soap?

Hi Everyone. Every August I start getting interested in soapmaking again. Today I was looking at my leftover soap stock from last fall, and found some old soap that's not so pretty...a few with a bit of discolouration, some that are just looking kind of rough with age, etc. What do you do with...

    Cold Process soap crayon ???

Hiya. thanks for sending me here Lindalu. Actually, I've never made these- you must have been thinking of someone else. I'm not sure what you could use. Maybe ask Anne Marie, the SoapQueen?

    Sample bars

I love getting free samples with orders, so I give them to my customers too. I include a small piece (about 1/6 of a full size bar) which each mailed out order. I do not offer samples to customers at shows. I always have open (unwrapped) bars of each scent so they can smell them all in person.

    My New Labels

Hi Sabon- I use a blend of Olive, Palm Kernel, Palm and Castor oils in my usual recipe. I do normally gel my CP soaps in a warm oven in the mold (except for milk soaps) i hope that helps! Thanks everyone for the kind words :)

It pains me to admit this!

Thanks everyone. My daughter can't go into Lush because she starts having a sneezing fit and her eyes swell shut! Needless to say, I keep the soap room door closed when she is here! I will do some more e/o researching. I do a soap with orange, listea, grapefruit and bergamot but it's not as...

It pains me to admit this!

...but I bought soap at Lush yesterday! Before I started making soap years ago, my husband was a big Lush fan. He even sent me a Lush gift package from the UK once. He loves anything citrusy. I've made him citrus scented soaps, but nothing sticks strong enough or lasts very long. I was at the...

    sugar scrubs

I just made a quick batch of these last night to try out. This morning I realized I probably shouldn't have used my castile soap for the base- no lather! I will try again using a different bar. I've got lots of fuglies lying around anyway. As far as the process for making the solid scrubs, I...

    My New Labels

Thanks everyone. I got the idea of the label that only covers the bottom part of the soap from another soapmaker. I admired her labels so much. I wanted something that wouldn't cover up the soap designs too much. I can't take all the credit (or even very much credit at all actually) because I...

Does anyone use "Square" for taking credit card pa

Square isn't anything that you have to buy into or purchase. I ordered their card reader (free) , then they just take a percentage of sales. No subscription fee or anything, so I could still use the guild's plan if it worked for me.
