I make shaving soap sets. You can search for bowls at thrift stores and flea markets. I had gotten wooden bowls at a flea market from someone for $1 a piece. I also found nice ceramic bowls at thrift stores for less then $1, some as low as 30 cents. Dollar Tree has some soup mugs that you may...
Tell me about it
I did a show two weeks ago and I was very upset with one of the soap vendors there. I really wanted to call her out in front of customers but refrained from doing so. She had no labels on the soaps. All she had was a sign that stated all organic ingredients and 100% essential...
Yes
Yes, you burn them. Mine comes with a bottle of simmering oil that has the same scent as the rocks. so you combine some rocks with the oil and burn them in wax/oil burner. The salt I use is the trade secret (they do not dissolve or melt) :shh: along with how I make my simmering oil...
sell them
You should try selling them. The only reason I even made them in the first place was because I had bit off more than I could chew by scheduling too many events and I was running low on body products and did not have enough for an upcoming event. It was something that I had left in...
Instead of just comparing myself to a certain Brand, how about saying how your soaps only contain ingredients that you can pronounce and no 50 letter words. I tell people this and they start laughing or smiling and usually gets the sale.
Aroma rocks
Its a type of potpourri made from salt, dyed and fragrant and you put them on a tea light wax/oil burner or an electric oil warmer along with the included oil.
So at every craft show, competitors will ask me questions about where I get my products, why i use certain clays and etc. They love to try to pry information out of me about my aroma rocks which nobody sells at any of the festivals I have been to and very few people are familiar with. The thing...
Aroma Rocks
The glass jars are Aroma Rocks/Crystal Potpourri. I made then after I realized that I did not have enough soap/body products for an event. They are now my biggest sellers.
Creating own baskets
I love all the ideas especially the ones of people creating their own packages. I already started preparing for some packages pre-made. But for "make your own" think I will go with
Small Package:
Pick 1 soap
Pick 1 scrub
Pick 1 body balm
Get Loofah Pad
Get Soap Dish...
Not really sure how much time you have. So I don't know if suggesting more and more soap is a go. But you may want to make some quick no waiting items.
Bath Salts
Bath Bombs
Sugar Scrubs
Salt Scrubs
Dead Sea face mask <----my biggest seller
loofa soaps
Body butter
just to name a few
I used to give out samples and still do sometimes if I have extra mix left. I put any remaining soap mix in little molds. I then take the soap and seal them in shrink wrap but don't shrink it and put a label on it with the company name, name of soap and website. Has not helped so I make sure to...
Thanks Cindy. All your ideas are great and will be using them. I just found out that my daughter's boyfriend works at this mall and he said that the area is upper class. So I will surly be doing some up the extravagant baskets too. They are looking at having 50000+ in attendance so I am sure...
I am stepping out of my comfort zone and doing a pretty big event. It is to take place at a "prestige" mall. I normally only do art & craft shows that rage between $30 and $125. This one is a couple hundreds. I am thinking that I should focus more on gift sets instead of individual products...
