Creative Cost-Effective Containers for Shave Soap

I make shaving soap sets. You can search for bowls at thrift stores and flea markets. I had gotten wooden bowls at a flea market from someone for $1 a piece. I also found nice ceramic bowls at thrift stores for less then $1, some as low as 30 cents. Dollar Tree has some soup mugs that you may...

I noticed something odd at the local market today

Tell me about it I did a show two weeks ago and I was very upset with one of the soap vendors there. I really wanted to call her out in front of customers but refrained from doing so. She had no labels on the soaps. All she had was a sign that stated all organic ingredients and 100% essential...

How do you deal with competitor questions???

Yes Yes, you burn them. Mine comes with a bottle of simmering oil that has the same scent as the rocks. so you combine some rocks with the oil and burn them in wax/oil burner. The salt I use is the trade secret (they do not dissolve or melt) :shh: along with how I make my simmering oil...

How do you deal with competitor questions???

sell them You should try selling them. The only reason I even made them in the first place was because I had bit off more than I could chew by scheduling too many events and I was running low on body products and did not have enough for an upcoming event. It was something that I had left in...

    Sales Pitch?

Instead of just comparing myself to a certain Brand, how about saying how your soaps only contain ingredients that you can pronounce and no 50 letter words. I tell people this and they start laughing or smiling and usually gets the sale.

How do you deal with competitor questions???

Aroma rocks Its a type of potpourri made from salt, dyed and fragrant and you put them on a tea light wax/oil burner or an electric oil warmer along with the included oil.

How do you deal with competitor questions???

So at every craft show, competitors will ask me questions about where I get my products, why i use certain clays and etc. They love to try to pry information out of me about my aroma rocks which nobody sells at any of the festivals I have been to and very few people are familiar with. The thing...

    First "big" show

Aroma Rocks The glass jars are Aroma Rocks/Crystal Potpourri. I made then after I realized that I did not have enough soap/body products for an event. They are now my biggest sellers.

    First "big" show

Creating own baskets I love all the ideas especially the ones of people creating their own packages. I already started preparing for some packages pre-made. But for "make your own" think I will go with Small Package: Pick 1 soap Pick 1 scrub Pick 1 body balm Get Loofah Pad Get Soap Dish...

    Stand too big??

Not really sure how much time you have. So I don't know if suggesting more and more soap is a go. But you may want to make some quick no waiting items. Bath Salts Bath Bombs Sugar Scrubs Salt Scrubs Dead Sea face mask <----my biggest seller  loofa soaps Body butter just to name a few

Soap samples - do you hand them out at shows?

I used to give out samples and still do sometimes if I have extra mix left. I put any remaining soap mix in little molds. I then take the soap and seal them in shrink wrap but don't shrink it and put a label on it with the company name, name of soap and website. Has not helped so I make sure to...

    First "big" show

Thanks Cindy. All your ideas are great and will be using them. I just found out that my daughter's boyfriend works at this mall and he said that the area is upper class. So I will surly be doing some up the extravagant baskets too. They are looking at having 50000+ in attendance so I am sure...

    First "big" show

I am stepping out of my comfort zone and doing a pretty big event. It is to take place at a "prestige" mall. I normally only do art & craft shows that rage between $30 and $125. This one is a couple hundreds. I am thinking that I should focus more on gift sets instead of individual products...

    Bramble Berry first experience

There was not any reason to package the way they did. There really wasn't any reason for them to package it the way that they did. They sell it in 3 different sizes. A 16 oz, a 7 pound (gallon), and 35 pound (bucket). I chose 14 - 7 pound containers. So I really do not see why I should have...

    Bramble Berry first experience

I am giving them another chance. Mainly because all I see are good comments about them and I guess they do not get many orders of 14 containers of DPG. They can probably count on one hand how many people have ordered more than two and probably felt it would be cheaper for them to ship that way...

    Farmer's Market Set-Up

Wow. Picture #5 did you make them yourself? From what I can tell it is flower pots with the saucer. That was a great idea.

    Bramble Berry first experience

This happened a couple of months ago but it is one of those things that still upset me about the company. And now that I am getting ready to place my second order with them the same disgusting feelings are creeping up. I sell a type of simmering oil for tea light burners that uses DPG...
