With regards to my post on vinegar, I wanted to emphasize that lye was not a big deal. I find vinegar useful in that it cuts the lye and makes it easier to rinse out. The natural tendency is to rinse with soap water but that doesn't work out to well. I have never experience burning after the vinegar, but perhaps that's because I wait to long before applying. By the time I do apply vinegar the lye is already burning. I don't always have vinegar. Alternatives?
 
Welcome! I was a little weirded out by lye at first, but as long as you are cautious you'll be fine. You'll learn a lot here and yes, pics are great! Have fun with your new found addiction!
